本日、殉職した特殊部隊員の葬儀が行なわれた。多くの人が参列し、個人を偲んだ。警察の発表によると、容疑者は発砲はしたが、殺意は否定しているという。
また、現場に最初に駆けつけた警官も撃たれて重傷を負った後5時間も救出されなかった理由は、犯人が、警察官はそのまま置いていけ、と要求したからだ、と当局は話す。
人質が自力で脱出した後、警察は一切の説得を止め、犯人からの連絡にも応えない方針をとった。その後、容疑者は、数回にわたって110番し、強行突入は止めてくれ、と連絡していた事がわかった。

最近、殺人事件を起こした人間が殺意を否認するケースが目立っている。今回の長崎銃撃事件も同様だ。殺意がないと裁判所で認められれば、量刑を軽くしてもらえるという事は、周知されている事に起因していると思わざるを得ない。自分の子供を撃ち、妻に暴力を振るい続け、これだけの大きな事件を起こし、警察官を射殺しておいて、命乞いの電話をする男の命を最後まで守りたかった警察の理由をしりたいと思う人は多いだろう。

The Latest on the Shootings in Aichi Today, the funeral for the special operative officer who had deceased in the line of duty during the shootings in Aichi Prefecture, was held.
